Fighter Jet Nearly Collides With A Commercial Airliner

Look to the left side of the video for a contrail and watch as an Italian fighter jet nearly collides with a commercial airliner over the skies of Europe. It turns out that the French controller and the Italian fighter pilot had a miscommunication about transponder and altitude reporting information.

Because the F-16 had a malfunctioning transponder, the airline pilots never received a TCAS warning about the approaching jet...
