Turns Around A Point

This interactive, free tool is a great way to help your private pilot students understand the Turns Around a Point ground reference maneuver.

You can drag the aircraft anywhere in the turn. Adjust the wind direction and speed by dragging the wind arrow.

The light blue sections of the turn arc show where the aircraft needs less bank and has a lower groundspeed. The red mark on the arc shows where the aircraft needs the steepest bank and has the fastest groundspeed.
